2004 Crémant Saphir Blanc Brut Vintage, Bouvet-Ladubay, Saumur, Loire, France

Fresh from the bakehouse

Glowing and bright yellow in colour with a strong fragrance of yeast, breadcrumbs and brioche. The pleasant sparkle transports a powerful and slim body with well-integrated strong acidity and a prolonged finish.
“Since 1851, France’s second-largest producer of ‘vin mousseux’ has been making sparkling wines in the heart of the Loire valley, at the centre of a century-old wine-growing region, according to the traditional method of bottle fermentation. In terms of quality and price, Bouvet’s sparkling wines are a serious alternative to champagne. One of the winery’s most prestigious and best-selling products is the Cuvée Saumur Saphir Brut, pressed from 90% Chenin Blanc and 10% Chardonnay grapes cultivated in the Grand-Cru classified vineyards.” (Wine merchant Mövenpick Weinland)

Alcohol by volume: 12.5%, serving temperature: 8–10°C.
