History: This sweet and sour cocktail is a refreshing drink on hot days and also makes a great aperitif. It was most likely invented by the Ramos brothers in New Orleans around 1890, and was originally called the Ramos Gin Fizz or simply the New Orleans Fizz. The brothers managed to keep the recipe secret until the prohibition period (1920–1933).
